How to Make $10,000 a Month on Airbnb

I've been an Airbnb host for over 5 years now, and I've learned a lot along the way. I've made a substantial stream of income, met some great people, and had some amazing experiences.

I'm not going to lie, it takes a lot of work to be a successful Airbnb host. But it's worth it. The money is great, but the best part is meeting new people and helping them have a great time.

I’m here to get you started on your own Airbnb host journey. Essentially, it boils down to these 5 core steps.

  1. Choose the right location. The location of your property is one of the most important factors that will affect your earnings. If you're located in a popular tourist destination, you'll be more likely to attract guests and charge higher rates.
  2. Make your property stand out. In order to stand out from the competition, you need to make your property as attractive as possible to potential guests. This means providing high-quality amenities, such as a comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchen, and free Wi-Fi. Don’t forget to mention what makes your property unique and memorable like a divine view, kitchen garden, or proximity to a famous theater.
  3. Price your property competitively. It's important to price your property competitively in order to attract guests. You don't want to price yourself too high, or you'll lose out on potential bookings. However, you also don't want to price yourself too low, or you'll lose money.
  4. Provide excellent customer service. The best way to ensure that guests have a positive experience at your property is to provide excellent customer service. This means being responsive to their requests, being flexible with check-in and check-out times, and going the extra mile to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. You need to be communicating clearly and available to their requests all the time.
  5. Keep taking feedback and work on improvements. Taking feedback is essential for analyzing your business’s performance. You should always request your guests to leave a detailed review with specifics. It can easily highlight the positives and negatives about the current state of your business. Use the feedback to improve your property and service with time. This should be a continuous process and I’m sure it will reveal many hidden opportunities for you.

Bonus: Here’s how I keep my guests coming back again.

  • Invest in high-quality linens, towels, and other bedding. Comfort is a big factor when it comes to stellar experiences. Thus, investing in these essentials can dramatically improve the guest experience.
  • Provide guests with a welcome basket filled with snacks, drinks, and other essentials.
  • Leave a detailed welcome guide with information about the property, local attractions, and transportation options.
  • Be available to answer guests' questions and address any concerns they may have.
  • Leave the property clean and tidy for guests upon check-out.

By following these tips, you can create a positive experience for your guests every time. Then, you can start focusing on building long term relationships with your guests. Becoming a successful host on Airbnb is not dumb luck. You need to commit to the process in order to reap the benefits. I hope you found this article useful and I wish you the best in your Airbnb host journey!
